How To Make Kali Mirch Chicken Drumsticks

Hai gays this is samayal samayal and welcome to samayal samayal blog page, Today let’s see how to make a unique interesting recipe called the Kali Mirch Chicken Drumsticks. I have 6 Chicken Drumsticks here, which we are going to marinate with certain spices, but before that, we are going to give insertions to the pieces of the drumsticks, because we want the marinade to go right deep into the meat, Let’s prepare the marinade.

  • 1 tsp Ginger Paste
  • 1 tsp Garlic Paste
  • Juice of ½ Lemon
  • ¼ tsp Green Cardamom Powder
  • ¼ tsp of Cinnamon Powder
  • ¼ tsp Nutmeg Powder
  • ¼ tsp of Star Anise Powder
  • 1 tsp of Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt (as required)
  • 2 tbsp Ghee (for frying)
  • 1 piece of Coal
  • Ghee (for smoking)

I am going to take 1 tsp of ginger paste,1 tsp of Garlic Paste, Juice of half Lemon.1/4 tsp of Green Cardamon Powder, 1/4 tsp of Cinnamon Powder, 1/4 tsp of Nutmeg Powder,1/4 tsp Star Anise Powder, 1 tsp of Red Chilli Powder, and some Salt. Going to mix this well

Let’s apply this paste to the Chicken, Coat the drum stick really well, the Chicken Drumsticks are required to marinate for a minimum of 45 mins. the more you marinate it, the better it will taste So, let’s keep this aside.

The Chicken Drum Stick has been marinated for 45 mins and now we are going to fry these in Ghee

I am going to heat 2 tbsp of Ghee on a Tawa, you can do it on the pan and fry these till they are crisp and done.

I am just checking that they are not getting burnt

Now after 5 mins let’s flip these over.

Now once I flipped the pieces, I am going to cover them and cook for at least 5 to 7 mins till the meat is done.

And yes of course, occasionally I am going to be checking that the pieces don’t get burnt.

Now if you do not want to fry the chicken, you can also grill it in an oven, but I’d recommend you baste it a little bit with ghee while you are grilling in the oven because we don’t want the pieces to get dry.

I have kept coal over here to burn because I want to give the chicken drumsticks a lovely Smokey fragrance and as you can see the meat is off the bone, this piece is done, let’s remove it

Now to smoke the pieces of drumstick, I am going to take this live coal put it in a small Katori, pour some ghee on it, and just simply cover this and keep it inside.

Now for the gravy, I am going to heat 2 tbsp of Ghee.

For the Chicken Gravy –

2 tbsp of Ghee
5 Garlic cloves (chopped)
½ tsp Cumin Powder
1 tsp of Coriander Seed Powder
10 Almond Paste
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
½ a cup of Yoghurt
¼ cup Water
½  tsp Black Pepper (crushed)
Rose Water
¼ tsp Dried Fenugreek Leaves
¼ tsp Dried Mint Leaves
1 tbsp Coriander Leaves (chopped)

Add 5 chopped cloves of Garlic and simply fry them till golden in colour, now that they have turned golden, add 1/2 tsp of Cumin Powder,1 tsp of Coriander Seeds Powder, here I have almonds paste. which I have made of 10 Almonds which I had soaked for at least 2 hours in warm water and then just simply deskinned them and ground them to a paste. we have sauted this Almond paste for a min to add 1 tsp of Chilli Powder, just gonna whisk in 1/2 a cup Yogurt and add this

As you can see, the oil has separated, I am going to add 1/4 cup of water to this. let’s add the salt 1/2 tsp of coarsely ground Black Pepper a few drops of rose water to give it a beautiful aroma.

1/4 tsp of Kasoori Methi, 1/4 tsp dry mint leaves, 1 tbsp of freshly chopped green coriander to quickly mix this

Now the Chicken that we had smoked over here, I am going to just toss it gently in this gravy

I cooked these Chicken Drum Sticks for 3-4 mins in this gravy. I am going to remove them in a serving platter.

Now what we are going to do is something really interesting. we are going to add 2 tbsp of cream to this Shut the flame! Mix this well with the gravy.

Add 1/4 cup of water to this, to just make a lovely auromatic gravy.

2 tbsp Fresh Cream
¼ cup Water
1 tsp Coriander Leaves
Onion Rings (for garnish)
Lemon Wedges (for garnish)

Just scrape off all that delicious masala that is stuck to the tawa, which has all the flavours. Mix it in your gravy Sprinkle 1 tsp of fresh coriander leaves and now pour this sauce on Drum sticks. Some sliced onions and our Kali Mirch Chicken Drumstick are ready to serve,
